Russian Saiga in .308
We had the chance to photograph a .308 (7.62x51) rifle made by Saiga (Izhmash) in Russia. This one is currently sold by Arms of America in Flagstaff, AZ
THE SAIGA 308 IS AN AUTOLOADING RIFLEwith a synthetic hunting buttstock and fore end. The iron sight consists of a sight leaf and a front sight, adjustable in windage and elevation. The range of the aimed fire through the iron sight is 300m. Found on the receiver LH side is an unified rail for mounting the optical sight. The aimed fire through the iron sight may be conducted with an optical sight in place.
The Saiga-308 autoloading hunting rifles are intended for hunting big and medium-sized game under various climatic conditions. The rifles are developed on the base of the venerable Kalashnikov assault rifle and are chambered for the .308Win (7.62x51) cartridge.
